A busy, hectic week on all ends kept us from getting new material up, but that’s what the Weekend Fourteener is for – catching up. We’ll return to a semi-regular posting schedule this week with more Rockies content on the way, but for now, the Fourteener.
1. By the time you read this, the Denver Nuggets may [...]

The esteemed publisher of buffstampede.com, Adam Munsterteiger, is reporting this afternoon that CU has landed the state’s top in-state prospect this cycle in defensive end Nick Kasa out of Legacy High School. Kasa had been committed to the University of Florida for over a month but decided to de-commit and sign with the Buffs in February.

Tom Kensler of The Denver Post is reporting tonight that CU has received the necessary funding to begin construction on a basketball practice facility as soon as this August. The facility will reportedly costs around $10 million and will be paid for in its entirety by private donors.
This is a huge breakthrough for the CU [...]

There’s outrage from Buffs fans about the John Henderson article in Sunday’s Denver Post about player conduct, and while I’m not surprised, I can’t say the anger is justified. Here’s my take on the situation, as a University of Northern Colorado journalism graduate and an outsider looking in at the CU football team:
Buffs fans are [...]

John Henderson has an article in today’s edition of The Denver Post about the mischievous conduct of CU football player’s during Dan Hawkins’ tenure. The article, which I will link here has CU message boards humming this afternoon for what many fans of the program consider to be an unnecessary and inflammatory piece.
‘Buff Nation’ appears to have [...]

Congratulations to sophomore Cory Higgins for being named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week for action from Dec. 8-14. Cory was simply “The Man” in CU’s win against CSU last Wednesday at the Coors Events Center. Higgins scored a career-high 33 points on 11-16 shooting, including 9-10 in the second half. Higgins took over the [...]

So I have been sitting here at my computer attempting to conjure up an eloquent piece about the 2008 Colorado Buffaloes. The team finished 5-7 this season which is, of course, one win shy of bowl eligible. Now CU fans can stew for a grueling nine months until the team takes the field again in [...]

“We didn’t have an answer for him in any way, shape or form,” CSU coach Tim Miles said. “When (Higgins) started making 3s, we knew we were going to have a problem.”
Cory Higgins wanted back into the CU locker room. He wanted back into the team’s new digs so bad that he made the Colorado [...]

Full disclosure here, I am a huge Jeff Bzdelik fan. I have been since he took over the Denver Nuggets in 2002 and led what was possibly the worst NBA roster ever – certainly the worst I have ever seen – to a 17-65 record. OK, that record is really bad but I would have [...]
